The hotel had beautiful grounds and gardens, perfect for a solo traveler. the staff were wonderful and even treated my dog with care and attention. the food, especially at the Gin Bar, was fantastic. I also loved the option to have treatments in my room.
Felt like being home, no complaints whatsoever.

Breakfasts. Polite staff. We were grateful for the discount on our bill, given the technical problems mentioned in the box below.
Poor plumbing - total failure of water supply necessitating use of swimming pool showers in another building. The room was overpriced and very small. It is a little surprising that this hotel won a Wiltshire "little gem" award. We thought it adequate rather than special.

The service was first class and the staff made every effort to ensure that we were happy with all the arrangements. The chef catered for my coeliac diet and even made a special dessert with gluten-free flour - a real treat. The meals were excellent and the atmosphere relaxing. Our bedroom was in the main part of the hotel and was well appointed and quiet. The hotel is in a very good location for exploring Bath and the surrounding area. All in all, we were very pleased with our choice of hotel and would return.

The staff were extremely welcoming and helpful, always ensuring our needs were met. The recently refurbished hotel had quirky lighting throughout, which added a delightful touch. the walk along the canal into the nearby town was a wonderful experience that shouldn't be missed.
The track leading to the property could use some illumination, particularly for guests walking to the hotel's sister restaurant across the road. The dining area lacked warmth and was not inviting, while the small lounge was overly dark with mismatched furniture.

it was in a peaceful location with nice gardens and had a swimming pool, staff were friendly and the food was good.
the main hotel is old and therefore so are the facilities. It was also noisy .I asked for a quiet room as have difficulty sleeping. the room was propbably in the most noisiest part of the hotel. the accommodation in the grounds would have been more suitable.it was rather overpriced for a 3 star hotel.a little far out from the main town.

Good comfortable rooms, especially the family room. There was plenty of space for the children to play outside and the pool was a great bonus. The hotel is very well situated for visits to places of interest such as Longleat and Bath.
There is no proper bar and the food was fairly expensive especially for children for whome there was no suitable special menu

The hotel has a rustic charm and is beautifully calm. It's exceptionally dog-friendly, which was perfect for our furry friend. the staff were very friendly and helpful, catering to all our needs and requests. the Stables room with its stone and wooden beams was spacious and had a huge comfy bed. the pool was clean and a great way to relax after a long day. We also enjoyed the short walk along the canal path to Bradford on Avon and the convenient train journey to Bath.

Friendly welcome; good-sized individual room; lovely garden to sit and chat in (and little alive rabbits!); perfectly located for what we wanted.
Indoor swimming pools, especially in the summer, are nearly always too stuffy and humid!
